Shojin Restaurant in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles

Today I ate at Shojin (organic, vegan Japanese restaurant) in Little Tokyo. The food was really good and the experience was almost “fine dining”. I had a hard time deciding what to order, as the menu had so many choices. I ended up getting, tofu-pumpkin croquettes, miso soup with kale and carrot, and “caterpillar” roll (bbq seitan, with avocado and seaweed). Look at the photos and read the notes of my tasting impression:

(hot, crunchy , soft inside. Interesting texture. Refreshing, and fun to eat. Delicious. Sweet)

(powerful deep flavor. Nice temperature. Kale is fresh and steamed to perfection. A delicacy.)

(Fresh seaweed. Delicious rice, fresh fatty avocado. Unlike anything I’ve had. Enjoyable to eat.)
