Pumpkin Pie Spice Chocolate Protein Shake

I have refined a recipe for an awesome and SUPER HEALTHY protein shake which will keep you going better than your next cup of coffee, banana or candy bar.

It simply consists of organic spinach, unsweetened almond milk, vega one chocolate shake powder, and pumpkin pie spice. It’s low-glycemic and contains NO SUGAR.

“What is vega one”, you may be wondering. Watch the video below and I’ll give you a vega one review and make share with you a delicious smoothie recipe.

This Vega One stuff is da bomb. I’ve had it everyday (sometimes TWICE A DAY!) for the last week or so, and I’m hooked.

I love that I get 50% of my daily vitamins and minerals (and awesome SUPERFOODS) in just ONE pack of Vega One Chocolate Nutritional Shake Packs.

When I have two of these per day, that means I’m consuming about ONE POUND OF GREENS + 100% of my vitamins and minerals. Talk about awesome! It’s the easiest (and most delicious!) way of fulfilling my ‘5 fruits and vegetable’ needs that I know of.

Pure Energy Cookie-Bars

Whole Foods Cookie

Seriously, this recipe took me 20 minutes, from conception to finish. I thought I’d be making a sort of energy bar… Turned out more like a cookie, or even brownie/blondie!

10 minutes to mix ingredients in food processor and 10 minutes in the oven (in a pie tin sprayed with coconut oil).

Organic medjool dates, raw almond butter, Himalayan salt, hemp protein (Manitoba HempPro70 has delicious flavor and is high in protein), organic raw oat bran, unsweetened organic almond milk, organic raw coconut sugar, organic raw cocoa nibs, organic raw hemp seeds (hemp hearts), organic sesame seeds, organic coconut oil.

20130416-122542.jpg(I did not bake on the metal thing the cookie is resting on. That is just what I was cooling it on. I baked in a pie mold. And, in the photo, the cookie is actually flipped upside down.)

Maybe the best cookie I’ve ever had.

Great source of fiber.
Great source of protein
Great source of antioxidants
Great source of health-promoting fats
Great source of minerals.

No cane sugar!

I might re-make them into little muffin-things. ;)
Could be good with added spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cayenne!! :p

Collard Green Wraps

Better than a burrito!
This is the dinner I threw together last night when I got home from work. It took under 30 minutes (and I enjoyed the whole process!).

I made quinoa, kale and tempeh with sundried tomatoes (simmered) in vegetable stock. I seasoned with basics like Himalayan salt, turmeric, ginger, cayenne pepper. I also made a raw (living foods) vegan sauce in the (Vitamix) blender. The sauce has fresh organic mint and dill, greens, cultured almond milk yogurt, tamari, and pineapple (as well as other ingredients, which I don’t remember now, but which felt right to include in the moment). If you would like to recreate something similar, use what you have in the fridge and trust what inspires you.
