Seasonal Green Smoothie With Vega One Shake and Pumpkin Spice

I tried vega one chocolate shake and with was delicious with greens. I make an organic hemp-brazil nut milk and made a smoothie with granola, lots of greens and vega one shake. It was a superfood shake which acted as a good snack (or “meal replacement”).

The vega one comes in individual pack sizes, so it’s convenient to just take one packet, blend it into a smoothie and rest assured that you are meeting all of your baseline nutritional needs. Much better than taking a vitamin supplement.

Tempeh Reuben in Ann Arbor

I went to The Lunch Room in Ann Arbor. The seemed like the “best” vegan restaurant in town (after doing a Foursquare and Yelp search). I was looking for somewhere with good food, but also relatively healthy. I found them on social media, because they have good looking fan-posted images and their reviews overall seemed positive.

I got the Tempeh Reuben (I’ve been a fan of good tempeh reubens for the past couple of years).

And… it didn’t disappoint. THICK-CUT, homemade rye bread, with (no sugar added) slow caramelized onion… and sumptuous tempeh! Yum!

The Lunch Room is a highly recommended place to eat vegan food in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Here is a photo of the inside:

How To Eat Healthy at Work and While Traveling

Tomorrow I am getting up for a long day at work, and then I am traveling on a train for 5 hours, from Chicago to Detroit. I will wake up at 5:25am and will get to Michigan at 1am. Needless to say: LONG DAY.

How will I stay healthy, focused and energized for this long day?

In the video below I show you what I will be eating over the course of the day, and why it makes sense (nutritionally) as the PERFECT FUEL for the day I will be going through:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF8atEv8-88

I will also be drinking lots of water, as well as mostly likely a fair share of organic green tea. (by fair share I mean, probably about a liter or more over the course of the day!).

Will definitely be carrying a bag of raw, sprouted, dehydrated almonds with me, too (forgot to mention that – I love the ones by “Living Intentions“, they are an awesome, healthy snack!).

Enjoy!!!

BEST #VEGAN BURGER EVER…

I think I made the best vegan burger ever…

I finally laid my hand on Kite Hill Cheese (YES! Vegan cheese… like for real for real).

These burgers were amazing… here are some delicious photos for you:

Served with a local kale salad (hemp seeds, turmeric, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, himalayan salt, black pepper, nama shoyu).

BURGER = Ezekiel sprouted grain bun, kite hill cheese, no-bull (sundried-tomato and spinach) vegan burger, kite hill cheese, red onion, heirloom tomato, butter lettuce, organicville chili sauce, black pepper, fresh local basil…

OMG, WOW, seriously the best.

I made a video blog post…

I started a new video channel for Awesome Vegan Blog.

I’ll be trying to post more and more videos and start to build a presence on youtube.

This is what my life looks like when I first wake up… I usually reach for food before I even brush my teeth or put on a shirt! :p

This video is about sprouted manna bread and dark chocolate (for breakfast!) and some of the reasons why these foods can be healthy…
