One thing many people try to do would be to push their values and beliefs on to others. In reality, it is, unfortunately, one of the things that vegans are infamous for. The suffering these animals survive is remarkable, and people that are linked to it and wish to prevent it could think that pain almost as if it’s their own. So, of course, they’re excited for it to finish.
The sad thing is that the more urgent and insistent we are about explaining why this is important, the faster the rest of society seems to round us. They don’t want to be held liable for the animal’ suffering. They do not feel personally involved in how these animals are increased or the items that happen to them before and after they’re slaughtered. We’ve been taught that food only comes to us in these pre-packaged types, and we should be thankful we have anything to eat at all.
Being vegetarian is a luxury. We are lucky to have the alternative. Unfortunately, some places aren’t so fortunate, and they’re impoverished enough that they are not eating meat; they’re hungry. So naturally, there are many high tensions around attempting to convert others into a vegetarian lifestyle.
We wish to help disperse an ideal of love and unity, and peace for everybody, including the innocent animals. Regardless, it’s a difficult task. We are all intimately involved in the meals we eat and the lifestyles we lead. Asking somebody to give up meat can practically feel like asking them to give up their mom. So they don’t respond to it nicely.
However, leading by example is one of the most successful ways to do so. Preaching and reciting facts and figures and seeking to guilt-trip people for their eating habits are unlikely to succeed. They will see us and respect that we have decided that’s out of the standard.
Many people will say they’ve thought about it, but they know they might never get it done. You can take this as a chance to ask questions. Like, why can’t they get it done? You can educate them on ways to make you feel better and items you do to make it simpler for yourself.
You may even indicate they try a meatless Monday every once in a while to get accustomed to the idea. However, even one day without eating meat makes a difference in the animal’s life that isn’t consumed.
You will have more impact if you do what you preach. But don’t be too aggressive, or you’ll end up pushing them in the opposite direction!
